Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

HiFi Vinyl is an app for cataloging your vinyl collection. This page explains what data we collect when you use it, what we use it for, and who we share it with. We wrote it in plain language on purpose — none of this needs to be complicated.

What we collect

We don't ask for your location or access your contacts.

What we use it for

What's public

None of your collection is public by default. If you generate a QR code for a shelf or your whole collection, that link shows only the title, artist, year and cover of the records included — never prices, private notes, or account data. You choose when to generate that link and can stop sharing it at any time.

If you add friends inside the app, they can see your collection and equipment, but never your private data (purchase price, estimated value, personal notes).

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data to anyone, or use it for advertising. HiFi Vinyl doesn't show ads.

How long we keep your data

For as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete your collection, equipment and photos. You can request account deletion at any time — see how to do it.

Children

HiFi Vinyl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything significant, we'll notify you inside the app before it takes effect.

Contact

For questions about your data, or to request that we delete your account, write to us at hola@hifivinyl.app.

This text is a draft written from how the app actually works today. Before submitting it to the app stores, have a lawyer review it — particularly the children's section, GDPR/CCPA compliance if you'll have users in the EU or California, and the specific data-policy requirements of Google Play and the App Store.
