Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026

By using HiFi Vinyl you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. We kept them short and in plain language on purpose.

What HiFi Vinyl is

HiFi Vinyl is an app for cataloging your vinyl collection: scanning records, organizing them into digital shelves, tracking your audio equipment, and getting AI-generated buying advice and pressing cards.

Your account

Your collection, your data

The data you enter (your collection, your equipment, your photos) is yours. We use it only to provide the service — showing it to you, generating cards and recommendations about it, and, if you choose to generate a QR code, showing a limited public version to whoever scans it. More detail in the privacy policy.

Free plan and HiFi Vinyl Pro

HiFi Vinyl has a free plan and, when available, a paid plan ("Pro") with additional features. If you subscribe to Pro:

Acceptable use

You may not use HiFi Vinyl to:

Discogs and third-party data

Catalog information (label, year, pressing, cover art) comes from Discogs. HiFi Vinyl is not responsible for the accuracy of that data — it reflects what Discogs's community entered, not our own verification.

About the AI recommendations

Pressing and mastering cards, and the buying advisor's recommendations, are generated by an AI model from the record's catalog data. They're a reference, not an expert opinion: they can be incomplete or wrong, especially for poorly documented pressings. The buying decision is always yours.

Service availability

We do our best to keep the app available, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. Some features (scanning, the advisor, AI-generated cards) depend on third-party services (Discogs, Google Cloud) outside our control.

Changes to these terms

If we change anything significant, we'll notify you inside the app before it takes effect.

This text is a draft written from how the app actually works today and from Apple's and Google's usual requirements for apps with subscriptions. Before submitting it to the app stores, have a lawyer review it — particularly the Pro billing and cancellation section (Apple requires specific language for auto-renewing subscriptions) and the governing law for wherever the business is incorporated.
